Scott moved to Cumbria in 1990 and set up Hyde Harrington with Tony Hyde in 1994. Scott is a chartered building surveyor and is principally involved in de-risking projects for clients and co-ordinating all designs, specifications, contract procurement and management of construction projects from a client's initial ideas through to handing the keys over on completion.
Scott is also regularly recommended by the courts as expert witness in dealing with building disputes, boundary disputes and other similar matters, having acted in well over a thousand disputes since moving to Cumbria. Twice having been chairman of the North West regional branch of The Pyramus and Thisbe Club, the long established organisation that helped draft the latest party wall legislation, Scott has acted in several hundred party wall disputes since the Act was extended to cover the remainder of England and Wales in the mid 1990s.
Away from the office, Scott is a keen golfer and enjoys walking in the Lake District.
Paul became a Member of the RICS in 1998 after studying Estate Management in Birmingham. After a period of time spent working in private practice and the more specialised field of telecommunications, Paul relocated with his family to Cumbria in 2010 to establish the Kendal office of Hyde Harrington following which Paul became a Director of Hyde Harrington in 2013.
Paul is involved with all aspects of commercial property surveying including private and local authority valuation work, agency sales, lettings and acquisitions and providing advice on landlord and tenant matters such as lease renewals and rent reviews.
Away from the office Paul has an almost obsessive interest in cycling and can be often found trying not to get himself lost on the local fells or attempting to ‘bag’ the local passes.
Charles is a Director within our Building Surveying team in our Kendal office. He recently moved to the north albeit following 15 years professional experience in London from both commercial and client-side roles.
His career started at CBRE acquiring a broad range of experience across multiple disciplines with their Building Consultancy, specialising in technical due diligence, contract administration, planned maintenance, historic buildings, and dilapidations.
A move over to client-side roles for the Howard de Walden Estate and The Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn focused on his particular interest in historic buildings and conservation. His expertise is directed towards the conservation of historic buildings and delivering both residential and commercial construction projects from conception through to completion. His work also involved implementing the planned maintenance strategy for their managed portfolio which covered residential, retail, medical and commercial buildings.

Outside of the office, Charles is a keen golfer and equestrian follower, with a passion for the outdoors and pursuits in and around the Lake District.
Alice was born in Carlisle and has worked in various roles within the financial sector. She joined Hyde Harrington as an Accounts Manager in July 2021 after studying for her AAT qualifications at Carlisle College.
Alice supports the Carlisle office 3 days a week whilst balancing life as a Mum to her 6-year-old daughter and 2 cats.
Outside of work, Alice is a trying pianist, enjoys keeping fit in the gym and is also a keen fell walker with plans to complete the Wainwrights over the next 2 years.
Caroline is from Kendal and attended school and college locally before joining Kendal based firm of solicitors, Milne Moser. From there she joined Hyde Harrington when the Kendal office opened in 2010.
Caroline’s role has progressed over the years and she now assists with the commercial property agency. Supporting Paul Evans, Caroline helps clients with their property requirements from assisting at viewings, negotiating terms and corresponding with parties to finalise matters. She is also responsible for general administration and running of the Kendal office.
Caroline is a keen runner in her spare time, and recently completed her first half marathon. She has two young children who she says have a better social life than herself, she is therefore also kept very busy with their activities.
John joined Telford Hart Associates in 1986 training as a quantity surveyor. He studied part time and graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 1995 with a degree in Quantity Surveying. He joined Hyde Harrington in 2016 in their Kendal office.
John specialises in the pre-construction measurement of projects, developing new methods and computerised systems as required for individual projects. He has worked on projects ranging in size from small residential developments to supermarkets, hospitals and some of the largest buildings in the world.
Outside of work, John is kept busy by his young family and extensive DIY projects.
Lukasz joined Hyde Harrington on a degree apprenticeship basis in 2022 having completed the first year of his BSc Quantity Surveying (Hons) degree at the University of Central Lancashire.
Lukasz completed an A level equivalent course at Kendal College studying Business BTEC level 3 Extended Diploma with an A*A*A* equivalent final grade.
Having joined as a trainee quantity surveyor, Lukasz assists the quantity surveying team on various aspects of any given project. This includes cost estimation, tender documents, site inspections, post contract cost reporting alongside general admin.
Outside of work Lukasz is a huge motorsport fan, mainly being into Formula 1, making sure to never miss a race week. Lukasz enjoys spending time with his family and friends and makes sure to go to the gym every once in a while!
Trevor is originally from Preston, Lancashire and studied for his degree at Liverpool Polytechnic. He qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1987. He has worked in both the public and private sectors in the UK together with stints in Dubai and Doha.
Trevor is experienced in all aspects of Quantity Surveying including cost planning, tender procurement, contract management and the negotiation of Final Accounts. He is also familiar with carrying out the role of Employer’s Agent and liaising closely with Clients.
Outside of the office, he enjoys taking advantage of living in the Lake District by tramping the fells and attempting to birdwatch.
Andrew moved to Nenthead in 2008 from West Yorkshire, and moving more recently to the Carlisle Area. He is a Chartered Architectural Technologist with extensive experience in design and project management of domestic, commercial and hospitality projects. This is drawn from his 20 years of practicing where he has developed an ability to work through problematic design considerations to achieve the client brief. Andrew is an approachable client orientated individual with a self-driven mindset of providing high quality yet functional design, that takes account of client requirements with a goal to exceed their expectation.
When not working Andrew will be undertaking some sort of DIY project at his home or wondering if he has done enough cycling around the Cambrian lanes to have an extra slice of pizza or bag of crisps!
