Quantity Surveying

Hyde Harrington acts as Quantity Surveyors and Cost Managers for clients seeking to carry out construction works, whether new build projects or the repair and refurbishment of existing property.

Working closely with our clients and the design team, we provide cost control and contract management on building projects from inception to completion minimising risk and maximising the value available from the budget.

Our service prioritises the business needs of the client, providing a tailored service which enables informed decisions to be made at all stages throughout the duration of the project based on robust cost advice.

We work closely with clients at every stage of a project and define clear aims and objectives at the outset.

We offer the following services:

  • Feasibility studies, cost estimating and benchmarking
  • Whole life costing
  • Cost planning and value engineering
  • Cost auditing and assurance
  • Value engineering
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Tender procurement, evaluation and contracting strategy
  • Contract negotiation and award
  • Contract documentation
  • Contract management and administration
  • Cost control and cost reporting
  • Dispute resolution
  • Delay and disruption analysis
  • Claims management
  • Agreement of the Final Account

To enable us to carry out the detailed measurement of large and complex projects, we have developed software in house. This software not only allows the measurement to be accurate but also builds up a 3D model of the building as measurement progresses. This allows us to check progress and the completeness of the measurements and can allow the project surveyors to have, in effect, an audit trail to locate particular items within the building should this be required as the project progresses through detailed cost planning and final works package measures or Bills of Quantities to site.
